I am posting to share the Carbon 12 moisture monitoring project that was completed as part of my Master's thesis research. The linked paper is free to download and is hosted on the FPL website. The study involved instrumentation of glulam and CLT panels through manufacturing, construction, and in situ use of the building to understand time varying moisture contents and subsequent drying of the mass timber products used in the Carbon 12 building. The study provides insights onto how to products perform with a high degree of exposure to moisture and lessons learned from instrumenting a building of this scale. Thanks again to Shiling Pei, Sam Glass, Sam Zelinka, and Paulo Cesar Tabaers-Velasco for all the help and collaboration during the study.
